Decomposing Senses of Place

Offered within ‘Ponderosa on the Road’ programming at Kelim Choreography Center, Tel Aviv.
23 February, 2017.

This workshop proposes different embodied and improvisational practices which experiment with a “decompositional” approach. Decomposition is offered as another orientation towards creative process, moving away from a sense of composing as productivity. We will practice tuning, listening, and psychic awareness. We may track energetic states, explore different sites and places, and play with different utopic/dystopic improvisational scores. Working from outdoors into the studio, the workshop asks: what is falling apart, what is coming undone, and how might this be a generative process?
