The workshop will propose different embodied and improvisational practices which experiment with a “decompositional” approach. Decomposition is offered as another orientation towards creative process, moving away from a sense of composing as productivity. We will practice tuning, listening, and psychic awareness. We may track energetic states, explore different sites and places, and play with different utopic/dystopic improvisational scores. Working from outdoors into the studio, the workshop asks: what is falling apart, what is coming undone, and how might this be a generative process?
